Our University not only provides excellence in education and training but also provides the very best facilities for students` personal development and recreation.
There are many different and varied clubs, groups and societies ranging from political discussion, current affairs, literature and the arts, to sport, dance and music.
For example, the `Our World` pedagogical group enables students to study basic educator's skills such as games and leisure organization, principles of education, basic acting, conflictology (behavior in conflicts) and age psychology, and master classes in these areas are regularly available. It has already gained recognition at a federal level and has joined the Interregional Commonwealth of Students' Pedagogical Groups in Moscow and was named one of the five best groups in Russia.
Another popular group is the `Political and Parliamentary Debating Club` and every faculty now has its own such club where students can develop critical thinking, oratorical and communicative skills. Such classes enable personal character growth and broaden the outlook of the students whilst enabling them to assert their own point of view and convince others, as well as recognize their own mistakes.
Our Students Union organises a varied calender of competitions, shows, concerts, debates, theatre productions and other events and regularly liaises with different academic departments to provide an interesting and topical event schedule. Perhaps the most popular show is our regular 'Search for a Star' talent show - many varied and interesting talents have been unearthed over the years .......
The STAM and KVM societies organise varied events ranging from comedy to dance where students present and prepare new acts and routines whilst being judged by their peers. These clubs are very well known in Samara and are rapidly gaining regional recognition due to their innovative and experimental agendas and the exacting standards by which they are judged. Public performances are organised on New Year's Day, Valentines Day, International Women's Day, at the Miss University competition, Students Spring, April Fool's Day and others.
Budding journalists can join the "Journalism Club" where they can prepare articles for critical examination and discussion. The Editor-in-Chief is always happy to publish the very best articles in the university's newspaper 'The Economist'.
