The society was established in 1947. It carries out a large amount of work connected with the organization of research and development work of students. It consists of: the SRS faculty Bureaus, information centers responsible for maintaining relations between higher educational institutions, conferences organizing committee, and the editorial board.

Also there is the "SRS-consult." consulting agency 

Every year 500-600 student reports are presented at study-groups sittings.

Students of Samara State University of Economics take part in regional, provincial and republican conferences, held in Moscow, St Petersburg and other cities of Russia, at which they compete with students from other higher educational institutions.

They also participate in All-Russia contests, supported by the Ministry of Education, the aim of which is to reveal the best research work in natural, humanitarian and technical sciences. Our students regularly excel here and become laureates, receive awards, diplomas and medals.
