The British rating agency «Times Higher Education» (THE) has published the world impact ranking results of the universities on achieving the UN in area of Sustainable Development (THE Impact Rankings 2021).

In three areas of the 2021 rating, SSEU is among the top 600 universities in the world.

In the direction of "Peace, Justice and Powerful Institutions", SSEU is among the top 400 universities in the world (out of 653), and ranks 21st among all Russian universities. This ranking focuses on how universities can support powerful institutions in their country and promote peace and justice.

In the direction of "Decent Work and Economic Growth", SSEU is among the top 600 universities in the world (out of 685), and ranks 41st among Russian universities. This area measures university research on economic growth, their graduate employment practices, and the percentage of students applying for a job.

In the direction of" Reducing inequality", SSEU is among the top 600 universities in the world, and ranks 25th among Russian universities. This area ranking measures universities ' research on gender equality, their gender equality policies, and their commitment to recruitment and promoting women.
