Assembled examination in the Russian language, Russian history and Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation

The exam on Russian as a foreign language, the history of Russia and Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation ( hereinafter – «Assembled examination» ) is conducted by the FSBEI ( Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution ) of Higher Education «St. Petersburg State University» with the organizational and technical support of FSBEI of Higher Education «Samara State University of Economics».

An assembled examination on Russian as a foreign language, the history of Russia and Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation is carried out at the following levels:

• to obtain a Patent or work permit (FE (foreign employee) level);
• to obtain a temporary residence permit (TRP (temporary residence permit) level);
• for a residence permit (RP (residence permit) level).

Procedure for testing people with disabilities

Candidates for a Russian language proficiency, knowledge of the history of Russia and Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation certificate, as well as state testing in the Russian language certificate with limited health capacities or  have a disability are tested individually.

Disabled people and people with the first disability group are exempted from state testing in Russian as a foreign language. Disabled people and people with limited capacity are exempted from passing the exam in Russian as a foreign language, the history of Russia and Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation. The following persons may be exempted from passing certain subtests when passing the exam in Russian as a foreign language, the history of Russia and Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation:

persons with partial or complete loss of hearing and/or speech function are exempted from passing the subtests «Listening» and «Speaking»
persons with partial or complete loss of vision have the right to an individual test conducted orally in a separate room with helper (assistant)

Assembled examination Information:

Assembled examination consists of 3 tests:

1. Russian language test (5 subtests):

• reading;
• writing;
• vocabulary/grammar;
• listening;
• speaking;

2. test of the history of Russia;
3. test on Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation.

Payment for the exam is made in cash of the University at the address 141 Sovetskaya Armiya street, for detailed information on payment, contact the office 411.

You should have the following documents with you:

1. Passport and its copy
2. Passport translation and its copy
3. Migration card and its copy
4. Register ticket and its copy

The assembled examination is held according to the following schedule:

Wednesday 14:00 (02:00 p.m.)

Assembled examination duration:

• Patent – 1,5 hours
• TRP/RP – 2,15 hours

In case of successful testing, the certificate is issued after 10 working days. To obtain a certificate you must have an identification document with you.

Retaking of exam procedure

It is proposed to establish uniform rules for retaking of exam for all categories of foreign citizens:

• The right to retake on a partial payment basis is granted if 1 subtest in the Russian language and/or one of the modules – «History of Russia» or «Fundamentals of Russian Federation legislation» are not passed.

To prepare for the assembled examination, candidates have the opportunity to attend a free preproduction class in which they will be able to get information about the testing procedure and study with the trial version of the test.
